Boosters

A booster adds a percentage to the coins and XP a member earned during a daily, weekly or monthly interval. The percentage follows the member's eligible roles or tags. It rewards activity, not simply holding a balance.

Category
Earn. Boosters pay extra coins and XP on eligible earnings; members do not spend coins on them.
Your cost comes from
Extra coins from eligible earnings and the boost percentage. An optional earning limit caps each member's bonus for that booster and interval. Cash cost depends on redemption.
Rewards are credited
After the configured interval ends and processing completes.

What members see#

The standard member UI has no dedicated booster screen. The member keeps earning as usual, then sees the bonus in their coin or XP activity after processing.

  1. Earn eligible coins or XP through configured activities during the interval.
  2. After the interval, a separate activity entry appears with the booster name, the location Booster and the extra amount.
  3. The coin balance and XP rise by that amount. Boosted XP can move a member up an XP-based Value Range tier.

No bonus is awarded when the member has no qualifying positive earnings, misses a configured minimum, lacks an eligible role or tag during processing, or the booster is disabled when their batch is processed.

Illustration: A booster award appears as its own activity entry. The actual time depends on processing.

What you control#

There is one built-in XP & Currency Booster engine with a community-wide switch and a card for each booster. It reads roles and tags, never account balances or tiers directly. Two common setups use that same engine.

Two booster setups
SetupWhat it does
Tier boosterGive tier roles or tags a percentage each. Value Range tiers can grant configured reward roles and tags, using XP or a rolling field such as trading volume. Levels-based tier progression does not itself grant those tier reward assignments. Maintain roles deliberately when a member changes tier.
Balance boosterMap each balance band to a role or tag with a percentage. Keep assignments current before payout processing. Remove only the old band and add the new one, preserving unrelated roles and tags. The booster does not measure how long a balance was held.

Booster settings

Booster configuration
SettingWhat it does
NameThe entry shown in activity. Required and unique in the community, up to 100 characters.
TimezoneA fixed GMT offset from GMT-12 to GMT+14, including half-hour and quarter-hour options. It does not follow daylight saving. The admin default is UTC/GMT.
Start DateThe earliest timestamp from which earnings count. The first payout follows the configured interval; confirm the effective start time in the chosen timezone.
Boost IntervalDaily, weekly or monthly. Processing starts after the day, Sunday or month ends in the selected timezone.
Qualifying criteriaOptional minimum XP and/or coins earned in the interval before any bonus is awarded.
Earning limitOptional maximum extra XP and coins, separately, for each member and booster in an interval. It caps the bonus, not total earnings.
Target action sourcesSelect source channels, such as Bulk Update, or leave empty for all eligible sources. A source filter is not a trading-only filter: other rewards through that source can count.
Booster settingSet separate XP and coin percentages from 0 to 99,999 for each role or tag. At least one role or tag is needed.

Boosters reward activity, not holding

A balance band selects the percentage on eligible earnings. A member who holds a high balance but earns no qualifying coins or XP gets no booster reward. Flat daily coins for holding a balance need a separate custom workflow, whose design must be confirmed for your programme.

How it works#

  • Daily boosters are scheduled after each day ends, weekly boosters after Sunday, and monthly boosters after month end in the configured fixed-offset timezone. Credits appear after processing completes.
  • Eligibility and percentages use roles and tags when the member's batch is processed. That rate applies to eligible earnings from the whole interval. A role change during processing delay can change the result.
  • The base comes from eligible XP and coin history in the interval. Previous booster awards and specified adjustment categories are excluded. Verify which purchase, refund and adjustment entries your integration includes before forecasting.
  • When a configured booster supplies the tier bonus, send the unboosted base reward through your integration. Do not apply the same tier bonus before sending it and then boost it again here.
  • Within one booster, the highest matching coin percentage and the highest matching XP percentage apply separately. They may come from different roles or tags. Percentages do not add within that booster.
  • Separate boosters using the same interval and eligible base can both pay. Their percentages add; they do not compound.
  • The bonus is eligible earnings times the percentage, rounded to two decimals and subject to the optional earning limit. Eligible deductions reduce the base; a zero or negative base pays no bonus.
  • Boosters are scheduled once per interval. Confirm retry handling before relying on a strict one-payment-per-member guarantee.
  • Boosted XP can move a member up an XP-based tier. Value Range tier reward roles are added but not automatically removed on demotion. Maintain old band and tier assignments.
Keeping band roles and tags accurate

For bulk updates, the published API can add or subtract named roles while preserving other roles. A role replacement changes the other non-default roles, and a tag upload replaces the full tag list. Use the right operation when moving a member between bands.

Remove only the old band role or tag and add the new one while preserving unrelated assignments. Use whole-list replacement only if you supply the complete intended list. A source such as Bulk Update can include non-trading awards as well as trading rewards.

Ways to use it#

Six example patterns for the booster engine, plus a scheduling workaround. All figures use 100 coins and $0.50 of reward value per FX lot.

Planning your economics#

The tier example adds 160,000 coins a month, worth $800.00 at the assumed coin value. The balance example adds 23,800 coins a day, worth $119.00. Switch between them below; these are values of coins issued, not a cash fulfilment forecast.

All member counts, rates and trading volumes are example assumptions. Dollar figures value additional coins at your assumed coin value; actual cash cost depends on redemption and fulfilment.

A separate flat daily reward would need a custom workflow. The example bands would issue 41,000 coins a day, worth $205.00, even for idle holders if the workflow allowed them.

Timing and limits#

  • Booster timezones use fixed offsets with no daylight saving. Other features may follow regional daylight saving rules, so local payout times can differ.
  • Start Date limits the earnings counted. The first payout follows the selected interval and the effective local start time.
  • There is no end date, day-of-week schedule or hourly interval. Keep the booster enabled through the last desired payout, then switch it off before the next unwanted payout is selected.
  • One booster may have several role or tag rates. The highest coin and XP rates apply separately. Separate boosters can stack.
  • A booster payout is not automatically reversed if the underlying reward is later reversed.
  • Only owners and admins can configure boosters.

Not supported yet#

  • Not supported

    Direct balance input

The booster reads roles or tags and earning history, not account balances. Your integration maintains balance-band assignments.

  • Not supported

Flat coins per day for holding a balance

The built-in booster pays a percentage of eligible activity. A flat award would need a separate custom workflow.

  • Not supported

End date, day-of-week or hourly schedule

Switch off a campaign after confirming its final scheduled payout.

  • Not supported

    A member-facing booster forecast

The standard member UI does not show the current band, next band or projected bonus.

  • Not supported

Published integration API to manage boosters

Configure boosters in the admin panel.

  • Not supported

Automatic demotion cleanup or bonus reversal

Maintain tier roles and any later corrections in your own operating process.

  • Not confirmed

    Strict one-payment-per-member protection on retries

Confirm retry behaviour before relying on a durable per-interval guarantee.

For your developers#

Keep band and tier assignments current in your data feed. The published User fields guide explains one way to maintain a balance or rolling-volume field.

Example prizes, reward rates and planner figures are synthetic planning assumptions, not Returning.AI defaults or a rate card. Configuration limits and stated admin defaults are identified in the guide.
